| This instrument provides an ideal bridge between a student's starter outfit and what in many instances will be their ultimate cello purchase. As such it suits the player of approximately grade 4 to grade 7 standard. This is not sold as an outfit set because by this stage a player can benefit from being given a selection of bows to chose from and cases, too. A suitable bow will probably be in the range of £300-£400. The choice of case will be influenced by the player's particular circumstances e.g. the amount and method of transport required for the instrument and sometimes on the physical strength of the player! If you're wondering whether to hold out a few more years before spending money on a better cello, our advice is "Don't hold back"; a better instrument - and bow - is invariably a huge encouragement and catalyst for progress for any student wishing to advance. |
