Peter Dodge
Peter has been making violins for 12 years. He is self-taught, spurred by a passion to discover for himself the minutiae of what makes a good instrument, with no preconceived ideas - much as the earliest makers must have done.
In the first five years he made 100 violins - not for sale, but simply to experiment, learn skills and gain invaluable insights.
He continues to make subtle changes with every instrument to bring out the best from each differing piece of wood.
Peter's instruments are now played by amateurs and professionals and in orchestras as diverse as the Cambridge Philharmonic and the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields.
