ROSINS ARE RED VIOLAS ARE...?
February 11th 2011
Roses are red, violets are blue, so is our rosin and it comes in pink too. No...? (It is hypoallergenic if that helps).
Being original with a Valentine's Day present can be tricky but if coloured rosin isn't to your taste, maybe we can help with something else. What about a viola labelled 'GP Love'?
We are not making it up. Pictured on the left and currently hanging on our wall, is a 16 & 1/4 contemporary viola made in 1978 by GP Love. It retails at £1000.
Click on the picture to see the viola in its full splendour - or preferably come and visit us and try it out for size and tone.
Any of our contemporary instruments would, of course, make a lovely present but the name of this one - bearing in mind the looming date - was too good to ignore. If your valentine happened to be a a viola-playing doctor, just imagine their surprise...
Coloured rosin (click here to order online) is rather fun but our lurid picture may have put you off. So on the right is a more serious present for the, um, light of your life (sorry...).
This flexible, Duet double clip-on stand light costs £21.44 (inc VAT) and is bright and robust. Click here for our full range of stand lights.
Finally, to promote harmonious relations, there is the useful and stylish (but perhaps not harmoniously named) Snark clip-on chromatic tuner, which is pictured below and can be be ordered here.
The Snark is a great piece of kit. It fits easily onto violins, violas and cellos and you can choose whether to use the built in microphone or the vibration sensor.
A colourful LCD display shows you very clearly what note you are playing and if you are sharp or flat. And it's accurate and fantastically simple to use.
We weren't going to mention strings (heart strings etc.. yawn) but thought that after all it might be worth reminding customers that we offer 12.5% discount off the RRP of strings and charge just £1 postage, regardless of quantity. Stock allowing, orders are sent out as soon as we receive them for next day delivery. Click here to order strings online.
If you want to order anything over the phone or would like more information about any of the above, please just call 01462 426012.
