19TH JULY: MUSIC & COFFEE WITH RUTH WATERMAN
Summer 2011
Between 5pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday 19th July 2011, at the Coffee and Music store 'Notes' at 31 St Martins Lane, London WC2N 4ER (by the Coliseum), the violinist Ruth Waterman will be doing an informal public interview and signing copies of her new CD of the solo Bach Sonatas & Partitas.
This promises to be a lively and thought-provoking evening. As well as being one of the leading concert violinists in the country, Ruth is known for her engaging way of exploring music in her lecture-recitals and radio programmes; and also for her work in Bosnia, described in her book: 'When Swan Lake Comes to Sarajevo'.
This is an opportunity for anyone to ask questions about classical music, performing, writing, New York, Bosnia and so on. Ruth is also keen to discuss issues of creativity with other artists – and maybe a scientist or two.
